Research & Development Cell

The Research and Development Cell at Government Degree College, Salooni is dedicated to nurturing an environment that supports academic exploration, innovation, and knowledge creation. Located in the hilly and culturally rich region of Chamba, the college seeks to encourage meaningful research that reflects local realities and contributes to broader academic and developmental goals.

The Cell works with the following objectives:

  1. To inspire both students and faculty to engage in scholarly research and creative activities.
  2. To provide guidance and support for publishing research work and participating in academic forums.
  3. To build partnerships with universities, research bodies, and industries for collaborative initiatives.
  4. To align research efforts with contemporary educational reforms like the National Education Policy 2020 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
  5. To conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions aimed at strengthening research competencies.

The college places special emphasis on region-specific research themes, including Himalayan biodiversity, tribal communities such as the Gaddis, traditional livelihoods, eco-tourism, and local knowledge systems. The R&D Cell also plays a vital role in identifying funding opportunities and promoting a vibrant research culture on campus.
