SEDG

The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell (SEDG Cell) is a dedicated initiative designed to promote equity and inclusion within educational institutions. Its primary objective is to ensure equal access to education and institutional resources for students from marginalized communities. These include Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), minority groups, and individuals with disabilities.

Objectives:

  • Identify and address challenges faced by socio-economically disadvantaged students.
  • Facilitate scholarships, fee waivers, and financial aid programs.
  • Organize skill-development workshops and career counselling sessions.
  • Promote inclusivity and create a supportive learning environment.

The Cell will perform the following key functions:

  • To protect all the constitutional rights of the SEDGs students.
  • To ensure that the institution is inclusive, safe, and secure for the SEDGs students.
  • To provide socio-emotional and academic support and mentoring for the students belonging to the SEDGs through proper counseling and monitoring programme.

The cell strives to empower students through education, ensuring their holistic growth and equal opportunities in academic and professional spheres.
