Welcome to the Library

The Government Degree College Salooni is proud to have an enriched library, designed to support the academic journey and intellectual development of its students.

The library has an extensive collection of more than 2,000 books, covering a wide range of categories and subjects. To ensure our resources remain up-to-date, we are committed to adding at least 100 new books annually across different disciplines.

In addition to books, institution provide access to 4 daily newspapers and 3 monthly magazines, offering students vital opportunities to expand their knowledge and stay informed about current events.

With a seating capacity of 80 students, the library is an inviting space for study, research, and exploration. Students are encouraged to make full use of this facility during working hours on all working days.

We believe that learning is a lifelong process, and the library is here to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and enhance the educational experience for everyone.

Library Rules

To ensure a smooth and respectful experience for all, students are required to follow these guidelines when using the college library:

  1. Eligibility: Students from all classes are welcome to borrow books from the library.
  2. Late Returns: Books must be returned within 16 days from the date of issue. A late fine of ₹1.00 per book per day will be charged for overdue returns.
  3. Book Damage/loss:Borrowers are responsible for the condition of books issued to them. If a book is damaged or lost, the borrower will have to compensate for the damage or loss.
  4. Reference Materials:Reference books and current periodicals are strictly for use within the library and cannot be borrowed. Students may read and consult them during library hours.
  5. Library Card:Students must carry their college identity cum library card while visiting the library. The card should be kept secure at all times.
  6. Reporting Loss:Any loss of books must be reported to the librarian in writing immediately.
  7. Personal Belongings:Students are advised to deposit their personal books and belongings with the library attendant before entering the library for reading.
  8. Discilpine:The library is a sacred space for learning. All students are expected to maintain silence and adhere to necessary discipline while inside the library.
