Fee Refund Policy
The University Grants Commission (UGC) fee refund policy for the 2025-26 academic year is expected to
follow the guidelines of the previous year, allowing for full refunds up to September 30, 2025, and
deductions of up to Rs. 1,000 as a processing fee for withdrawals between October 1 and 31, 2025. This
policy applies to all higher education institutions (HEIs) recognized by the UGC.
Here's a breakdown of the anticipated policy:
- Full Refund:
A full refund of fees will be provided for all cancellations or migrations of
admissions up to September 30, 2025.
- Processing Fee:
For cancellations or withdrawals between October 1 and 31, 2025, a deduction
of no more than Rs. 1,000 as a processing fee is allowed.
- Applicability:
This policy applies to all HEIs, including those established by Central or
State Acts, and those recognized by the UGC under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
- Duration:
The policy is expected to remain in force for the 2025-26 academic year until the
UGC releases a revised policy.
- Beyond October 31:
For any admission schedules extending beyond October 31, 2025, the provisions outlined in the UGC's
earlier notification on fee refunds and non-retention of original certificates will apply.
Key Points to Note:
- The specific details of the 2025-26 policy, including the exact last date of admission and any
revisions, will be communicated upon the release of the official UGC circular.
- Students and parents should be aware of the policy and the deadline for full refunds.
- Institutions should ensure compliance with the UGC guidelines and inform students of the refund
policy.
